■ [Debian]dovecot 1.1にupgradeしたら保存したメールが読めなくなった。

いつもどおりaptitude updateしたら

[更新] dovecot-common 1:1.0.15-2.3 -> 1:1.1.12-1

[更新] dovecot-imapd 1:1.0.15-2.3 -> 1:1.1.12-1

[更新] dovecot-pop3d 1:1.0.15-2.3 -> 1:1.1.12-1

となって、dovecotが1.0から1.1にバージョンアップされた。

そしたら、Icedove(thunderbird)で、ホームディレクトリ以下に保存してあったメールが開けなくなった。はじめはセパレータが良くないのかと思ったけど、よく調べてみるとdovecot.confのmail_locationが良くないらしい。

Dovecot by default detects the mailboxes in this order:

1. maildir: ~/Maildir

2. mbox: ~/mail, and /var/mail/%u if it exists

3. mbox: ~/Mail, and /var/mail/%u if it exists

ってことで、defaultにしておけば、~/Mail/以下にあるmboxを読んでくれるはずなんだけど、1.1からは変わったのかなぁ〜

としたら、昔通りにつかえるようになった。ユーザによっては maildir:~/Maildirを期待しているかもしれないので、少し様子見。
